Question:
Could I be experiencing Hypoglycemia?
I am six months out. I had a LapRNY and am down 92 lbs. Last week, about 30 mins. after eating lunch, I felt clammy, weak and lightheaded and had to sit down a bit. It seemed to pass in about 30 mins. It happened again this morning after breakfast but I also experienced mild nausea with it. I am not eating sugar and each meal was completely different than the other. I am wondering if anyone has had this happen and what I could do to avoid it in the future? — Sherry M. I have to agree with the prior poster, hypoglycemia usually effects you
before you eat, your sugar levels are low. Sounds to me like you are
dumping but you havent mentioned what you ate. Did you consume sugar?

I am not eating sugar. My meals consisted of chicken/green beans;
another of scrambled egg; and today I had l/2 ham sandwich and all 3 times
about 30 mins after eating, I had the weak, shaky, nauseous feeling. Seems
to be something to do with digesting doesn't it? I just thought others
might have had similar problems.

It could be hypoglycemia. Your pancreas could be putting out the insulin
when you eat, but you haven't eaten the carbs that your body thinks is in
there, so your blood sugar drops. I would think that it could be a form of
Dumping Syndrone. The same thing has happened to me, and at the time, my
blood sugar was 54. Let your Dr. know, and see if you can get a machine to
check your blood sugar while this is happening. He might want to do a
glucose tolerance test, which might be hard on your system. Good luck and
