Question:
7 weeks post op relieze and,had one fill,and not loosing weight,

I am really depressed.I had the surgery ,lost 25 pounds..but..i feel no restiction!I quit loosing weight.I feel like I had no surgery!I swim..I get all the water.Im wishing I hadnt done it.Will it get better after another fill?Should I just relax and wait(another 3 ccs fill in May).So far,I have 3 ccs.I feel like a failure!Why even have the band if I cant tell?Help!    — rosesrbl (posted on April 16, 2010)

My Dr. told me to be very aggressive with the fills, I have 9cc in 11cc band, I had my surgery 12-24-09 and to date have lost a total of 50 lbs, of which 12lbs was preop. My dr told me if I could eat more than 1 cp of food I needed to get another fill. I have had 5 fills so far. I feel pretty good restriction now, but could still use more. You need to make sure you are eating your protein 1st. Getting at least 64 0z liquids. You also could be losing inches,plus increase excersise. Sometimes you just get at a standstill, then all of the sudden you will start losing again. Dont get discouraged, it will happen for you. God Bless

Very common this early to not be losing weight. The band needs to be tight enough to cause restriction. It is frustrating right now but is the time to practice your rules. Donna SW 303 current 195 Lapband 4/07

I am 10 weeks post op and have lost nothing! I had one fill, it did nothing. I lost 28 pounds before surgery and gained 3 back. The only time I feel anything is if it gets stuck, and that's usually the first bite. Then, it goes away but I'm still hungry all the time.

hello girls, i had the same feeling in the begining of my lapband surgery. i had it plased on sept 22nd.i have lost 35 pounds so far. but i had no restriction at all, i diddnt feel any restriction untill i got to my 5th fill.now its hard to swallow the food .i cant eat bread even if i forst my self to because it wont go down , u would have to through it up or hurt your self buy drinking water after that stupid bite u took from the sandwhich, and it hurst when i tell u it hurts. it feels like some thing so big going down your asphiges and it should not go down.give it a chance u will get their.it took us this long to have the surgery it shouldnt be long till u feel your restrictions honeyyyyyyy. good luck. if have any questions please dont hesatat to e-mail me at [email protected]
