Hi Mia,
My sister in law had/has Medicare and yes it was covered. You have to do
all the pre-reqs for it. In St.Pete area Dr.Renkie (outa Palms of Pasadena
Hospital) takes Medicare. You can contact the ins. office and find names in
your area. I'm in Bradenton and my DR was in Clearwater..Dr. Richard
Gordon. To me it was worth the drive to Clearwater and the hospital was
Morton Plant Mease...they were/are all excellant. You also might check
around you and see about attending a support group and people at these
meetings will all be happy to give info. Best of luck to you!

I have Wellcare and Medicare and I am using Dr. Rehnke (pre-op)in St.
Petersburg (website - http://www.obesitynomorefl.com/). I am having to
drive from the Orlando area down there because he is the only one I have
found that took Wellcare. I believe Dr. Overcash in The Villages (was in
Ocala) takes medicare but you are responsible for the 20% or whatever it is
to pay. I dug up every bariactric surgeon close by and emailed about 20 or
so to see if they were part of the Center for Excellence which medicare
requires. Hope this helps!

Mia, you can use this website to answer your question. click on search or
browse bariatric surgeons right above the blue tool bar on the right side.
They also have hospital names and anything you need to find out if your
insurance is accepted. This website is great. It is how I found my
doctor. Hope this helps.
