Question:
13 DAYS POST OP, I FEEL AS IF I HAVE FALLEN OFF MY REQUIRED WALKING..
Since hosp. release on 5/15, I was pleased with my walking.I cannot consome my 70-90 grams of required protein each day. I am so weepy, blue, sad. I am ashamed of me for not pushing my walking.I do not have a walking partner anymore. Has this occured with you?I KNOW I HAVE TO WALK. Today I have just bottomed way out. How did you handle this, ADVICE PLEASE! I am scared. I return for the 1st time to my surgeon 5/28. Everyone thank you for your support and advice. — nana2one (posted on May 26, 2009)

i totally hate walking around outside and in my neighborhood. i do NOT
want my neighbors to see me shuffling my larger than normal body about the
neighborhood. i joined a gym where nobody knows me so i can go there and
walk on the treadmill. listening to music helps a LOT-- you feel like
you're just listening to music.
and remember-- if you are feeling "sad" or "blue",
exercising will make you feel MUCH happier. at least i feel happier when i
exercise. you can do it!!! don't get down-- just because you didn't do it
yesterday does NOT mean you can't do it today or tomorrow! you can!
GOOD LUCK!!!

I was just released on 5/21 and i'm totally going through the blue thing
off and on too. From what i've read it's completely normal. I feel like
my walking is backing off a lil myself. all i can say is keep trying and
even if you're only doing what you did yesterday it's more than you were
doing before you started this journey. Also do you feel like you're
getting enough rest? i'm finding when i feel the most down i'm usually due
for a nap. remember you just had surgery recently. Good luck hun. Have
faith in yourself and remember you were brave enough to go through this to
get healthy...you can get through each of these steps.
