Your digestive tract is learning to operate under new conditions. New foods
or drinks may not be tolerated well. If you tried something different, then
go back to ingesting whatever did not bother you. Learning to eat again, is
a day by day thing. I realize you may still be on liquids or pureed foods
at this stage, but the general recommendation is to "try one new
food" per day. This way, you can figure out which food or new beverage
(including protein shake) may be bothering you. Some patients end up being
lactose intolerant after surgery. So if you are drinking milk, or mixing
protein supplement with milk, you might try just water instead. This coud
be the problem. DAVE

Some discomfort and indigestion is normal early post operatively. You've
been through a major surgery and should feel just a little bit better
everyday. I would also recommend trying some Maalox Plus to help with the
bubbles - something with simethicone and it should help. Keep walking as
much as possible. It is most likely your gas bubbles are too low now to be
belched up, they will have to work their way down and out if you know what
I mean? If you had laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon inflated your
abdominal cavity with CO2 and it will just have to be absorbed and will get
better as well. You should have a one week check up right? Let the doc
check it out and make sure all is well.
Best of luck,
