Hey Joanna, I have not had my wl surgery yet but I have had a hernia (
Umbilical hernia) fixed. Like all surgery it was not pleasent but it was
not a long recovery or anything. Just do what the Dr. tells you. Don't lift
ANYTHING heavy for awhile and you will feel much better after the herias
been repaired and you are healed. God Bless and Take Care

I forgot about the pain. It's not to bad they will give you meds. and
without complications you should go home that day or the next morning.

The hernia repair will be no where near as painful as the weight loss
surgery. You will be sore for a few days, like you done too many sit-ups,
but it's not a big deal at all. Relax and Good Luck!

My surgeon had fixed my Hernia while he did my bypass..also removed my gall
bladder at the same time..so i wasnt sure if all the pain was from one or
all the procedures..but they will give you pain meds for the pain.
Good Luck.

I'm not gonna lie to you, surgery is surgery. It is gonna have some level
of discomfort. It will not be as painful as the g-pass, but it is gonna
hurt, especially the 1st day. I had 3 Hernias removed.

Good luck on your surgery, you are going to feel so much better after it
over. As to the pain, ask the doctor for a pain pump. It has much better
pain coverage. I know some people feel pain more than others. I have a
very low tollerance for pain and the pump made it possible for me to have a
very large hernia repaired.

Dear Joanna,
I had two hernias repaired after bypass, their is no
comparing them or my c'section to the pain of bypass surgery. they were a
breeze next to that. Also they are a quick forget memory. Don't be afraid,
I know that is easier said then done but it is quick and you'll see it's
not even close. I'll be seeing your posting after saying it wasn't bad
except for the nerves and we ALL remember them very clearly.
