Question:
boots
I have lost 128 lbs ... weight 202 ... almost in ONEDERLAND!!! I have bought some cute outfits to go with my slimmer body. It has been fun shopping and finding clothes that fit me and liking the way the fit. My one problem I have is, I guess, I have huge calves. I have tried to buy boots to go with 2 skirts/dresses I have bought, but if the boots are too high and come over the calf they will not zip up. This has been a bummer. I am always surprised when trying on clothes ... always saying ... wow this fits me! :D Not with boots. Does anyone have any advise on slimming down calves or a place to purchase boots with a wider calf? — Tammy Cardwell (posted on October 27, 2008)

Hi there this always works for me. When you look for boots always look for
those with a little elastic at the top(MOST SHOE STORES CARRY THEM). When
you try the boots on try pushing them down until you can get them zipped
then pull then upward over you calves. They will give a little. You also may
want to consider boots with soft leather. I hope this helps

Most 'high end' stores like Macy's or Robinson's May carry "wide
leg" boots. You might have a pay a bit more but you DO get what you
pay for. So... good luck. I had the same problem until I decided to spend
$150 on boots - the first boots that I found to fit me since I can only
remember - probably high school (next year is my 20 year reunion). Good
luck.

Try shoetrader.com and masseys.com. Masseys has a really nice black
leather boot by Ros Hammerson and it is called Walker. Type in Walker at
the search site and it will bring it up. Good luck!

I have always had this problem, even when I was not obese as a teen! My
legs were always much thicker than everyone else! I don't bother, anymore
looking for long boots...I go for mid ankle boots...BUT...I found a cute
stretch fabric boot at Target last year (looked like suede)...I was
thrilled to get my calves all zipped up! LOL I don't wear them because I
find myself in jean most of the time anyway! So I use my mid ankle boots
anyway! Go figure! But I am going to try everyone elses suggestions and
find myself a nice leather pair one of these days. I'm a Tom boy when it
comes to my lifestyle but I am a closet Barbie Doll Fashion wanna-be! LOL

Fantastic weight loss, nice to be able to find clothes you feel good in and
look good in, does wonders for ones self esteem. As for the boots, Iknow
that Lane Bryant catalogue sells boots with a wider band.....keep up the
good work. Farmgirl58

I've got the same problem - always have, even in my thinner days. I
ordered some from Woman Within before that are for larger calves, and they
still didn't fit! Let me know if you find some that do, cause I'd be
willing to try them!!!!!

Hi. I was the same way about boots. I have lost the same amount of weight.
I could never wear boots. But, I ordered low heeled boots from Eddie Bauer.
They come in wide. I just received them Monday, wore them yesterday and I
cried when I tried them on. I used a online discount code, so they were
$127.00 + tax and shipping. it was priceless when I zipped them up. Just go
to Eddiebauer.com.Good Luck
