HI, Not sure which surgery you had, but I have lapband and had severe
heartburn about 4 days after a fill and it ended up that I had been filled
too tight. I had some fill removed was instantly better- no heartburn
since.

Call your surgeon. There are several meds that will help.
Also put 2 2x4s under the headboard of your bed, no acidic foods (tomatos,
OJ etc), no tight belts or pants, no smoking.
CALL YOUR SURGEON TODAY.

Prevacid was my magic pill for heart burn! I had severe heart burn from a
hiatal hernia before surgery...NOTHING worked. Doc put me on Prevacid and
WOW...no more pain and it healed my acid burned esophogus...My throat
always felt raw and sore. Gone! After RNY I didn't need it and I have no
idea what became of my hernia...Beware though that antacids block calcium
absorption and is probably the main culprit of Calcium and Vit D
deficiencies in the US...It seems everyone I know takes antacid and no one
seems to realize that calcium needs stomach acid to be absorbed...Antacid
block stomach acid! This is the reason that RNYers' MUST use calcium
CITRATE (and not calcium carbonate) as it is absorbed with little stomach
acid! Just so you know! Pervacid is wonderful though! I don't know how I
would have managed without it. You'll need a prescription from your
doc...But that's probably the best option anyway...See your doc!

Also maybe a spoonful or two of yogurt could "cool down" your
stomach, as they say in India.

Try Pepcid Complete twice a day (one in the morning & one in the
evening; like 8am and 8pm) for one week. If things don't improve when
that week is up u should check with your Dr. :0D Good Luck! I am there
with that heartburn too!

Sounds like your band is too tight, maybe an overfill or your swelling from
your period. Trust me, there isn't enough reflux medication in the world
when your band is too tight. I had it come up and go out my nose once!OUCH.
Call your Dr and tell them what's going on. I'll bet they loosen it up a
little.
