Question:
Help..I need a Nutritionist in the Bradenton Florida area
I 'm looking for help to find a nutritionist in my area. My Dr. does have a person for me to see,but I live a distance from her and was hoping to find someone closer. I have spent a year jumping thru ALL the ins hoops! This is the last thing to do. I have not so good ins Staywell [basicaly Medicaid] as I'm on SSI. Thank you for just even reading this. Have a very Happy Easter to ALL !! — tootsie52 (posted on March 19, 2008)

Hi Julie,
Try calling the hospital that you are going to have your surgery at. Ask
to speak to the head nutritionist. Tell that individual that you are going
to have WLS surgery at their hospital on "X" date and ask if you
can communite with her by email with diet questions before and after
surgery. The hospital I went to has three nutritionist on staff but only
the head one dealt with Bariatics. She has been a jewell. She write me
with suggestions and even has sent me pages of suggestions by fax and
email. She found 5 brands of Protein and when I was in the hospital she
had me try all of them. We have become good freinds and she is more proud
of the progress that I have made than I am. You can also try your local
hospital, but if they do not do Bariatric surgery, they are not going to be
much help. Also look for the closest support group, as they will be great
on helping you find the help you need locally.
