It is possible you hit a plateau. Your body has to catch up. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and also your protein drinks. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day and 35 pounds at 7 weeks out ain't to shabby!! You will lose more trust me. Best of luck, Mickey

Hi You can hit a plateau, It has been 6 months for me and I hit a plateau for 4 weeks and just lost 4 pounds. you have lost 5 pounds a week, the same as me, it will happen, I know with me I am doing so much better, moving around etc, it was the best thing that I ever did. Good Luck, and keep in touch...make sure you drink your water and stick with enough protein. It also would be a good idea to talk to your doctor and your dietician to see if there is something else they can tell you.

Hi Jennifer and thanks for writing. Be anxious about nothing Jennifer, you have NOT hit a plateau, not at all. A plateau by definition is about 12 weeks of no weight loss, not 13 days. Just because we lose one week, does not guarantee that we will lose another. When I had surgery, I really did lose every week, sometimes only a half pound, but I did lose every week for almost 18 months (except for maybe 2 weeks). But I have a friend that would lose and stop, lose and stop, lose and stop. Then she thought at a year she was done, and just a size 12 or 14. She was happy, but a little disappointed. Then over the next year she lost down to a size 8, and then after that we are both sporting a size 4. So, lose and wait is no be deal, except in your head. Obesity is a head issue with a body consequence. You have to fight your own head to keep youself on track. Be sure you are doing what you know is right, water, protein, AND exercise. So many forget the later. If you don't exercise, you will be stuck with more weight that you want to be stuck with, exercise, every day you can, do it, force yourself out there, and exercise. And be sure you are drinking the right things, water, no carbonated beverage and stay away from caffine. You will be doing great again soon if you follow the program, if you veer from it, the consequence is also for you. The choice is yours. But it sounds to me that you are doing well, just anxious. Take care, Patricia P.

Hi Jennifer! Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks post-op and feel like you a lot!! I hit my first plateau a little over a week post-op and got stuck on the same weight for about 5 days then dropped 3 lbs from one day to the next. The a couple of weeks ago got stuck again for about a week and now loosing again! I've talked to several people that are post-op a year or more and they say it is normal. They say your body has to catch up and get use to it. I've lost 31lbs and tomorrow will be 6 weeks, so I think we are doing good! Also make sure you are walking, that seem to help me move things along when I get stuck!! Good Luck and keep in touch. We can encourage each other and see if we are going through the same since we did the surgery so close together. Take care! Carmen

I have heard that a true plateau is no wt loss for 3 months. Kinda puts things in perspective! Your body is changing. As long as you can honestly say that you are doing all the right things, then you WILL contine to lose. Our bodies have been up & down,in the wt loss arena so often...it will take a while to find its own rhythm. The best to you.
