Hi Sally. I know you are really discouraged, but honey listen to me carefully. If they do surgery when you have dangerous blood pressure, it can cost you your life. They are very wise to send you home. I know this is hard to go through, and especially if you get anxious, it will not help your blood pressure. I did not have that issue in surgery but I know one woman who was delayed for 2 years for medical issues before having surgery. It can be a bear to wait. I don't understand by what you wrote what you mean by "the way my test came out find". I assume that the MRI news was not good. I am not a doctor, and you have real issues with blood pressure. You are gonna have to follow their advice carefully if you really want surgery. Just know that if you work to get this thing under control that it will increase your possibility of not only having surgery but being successful. Do what it takes to work with your doctors on this issue. It will help you out greatly. Take care. Patricia P. I don't know if you are a Christian or not, but I am. God's Word is a great way for me to lower my blood pressure and find peace. God's Word is a wonderful rock in mcy every day life. If you would like to know more about Jesus Christ or would like me to share how I get peace through Him daily, I would be glad to share with you. Just ask. Take care,

High blood pressure can be a bear. I had the surgery in hopes of avoiding HBP and diabetes. Sally, you MUST find ways to calm yourself when going to these appointments. As Patricia suggested -- scripture reading helps -- the Book of Psalms is a good one for finding inner peace. Also meditation -- helps you concentrate on your breathing and calms down your energy. I'm an ordained minister and believe in meditation as well as prayer. When I read your post, Meditation was the first answer that came to mind. Peace,

Sally, the first thing that came to mind was that you might have White Coat Syndrome. That is when you see a medical professional your BP goes up for no apparent reason. Does it go up when you go to the doctor or dentist? Many people have this and it is very common. I hope that you can resolve this issue soon so you can move on with your WL journey.

Hopefully your PCP or cardiac doc can give you a GOOD who cares drug for the day of surgery. It is probably the most stressful decision any of have ever made. A nice relaxer might help get you thru that day. If I had known how it was going to be I would of jumped on the table and said LETS GO, rather than being scared out of my mind:(
