Question:
New Surgical Weight Loss clinic of Eastern Washington opened in Richland Wa
Does anybody know anything about it. Is S Ross Fox MD really a World Renowned Obesity Surgeon. I have been doing my paperwork with OHSU, Portland OR But this one would be closer to home and easier. I just would like some feed back on the doctors they have a website aboutsurgicalweightloss.com. The doctor is listed here but some of the entries seem to older entries. — judchastain (posted on August 16, 2006)

Yes. He was one of the founding members of ASBS. He is involved with IPSO
(international), presents papers on newer techniques and formal studies he
has conducted. He started doing obesity surgery in 1963. Did mine and my
husband's (94/95) and has an excellent after care program.

I don't know much about him but he is doing a free seminar here in
Pendleton August 19th at the Oxford Suites at 6:30 pm. That would be worth
the trip without paying money for good info.

Dr. Fox and Dr.Oh did my surgery in 2000. I would recommend either one. I
don't know if Doc Fox is still doing surgeries or not....but he has a Dr.
Srikanth working with him, at least last I heard. I'd say if you want a
surgery that is going to work, these docs are your best bet. I never had
any complications at all. I'm very happy with my surgery. Regards~

You'd be very wise to look up Dr. Heap in Richland, also. He is a very
experienced Weight Loss Surgeon who specializes in a variation on the
Duodenal Switch. To make things even better, for private pay patients, his
rates are comparable to surgeons in other countries--VERY INEXPENSIVE. I
can't speak highly enough of Dr. Heap.
