how do I start journaling on my profile, I'm new at the computer

Paula, welcome! When you view your profile, click "my profile" in the yellow toolbar at the top. From there, click "general info (update your profile here)". That will get you to a set of fields. Scroll down to the large box

Paula, welcome! When you view your profile, click "my profile" in the yellow toolbar at the top. From there, click "general info (update your profile here)". That will get you to a set of fields. Scroll down to the large box marked "comments" and start typing! (Sorry if this comes out wonky-looking; I screwed something up. I'm really the one to be giving posting advice, huh?!) :)
