Question:
Jello?????

What is it about Red/dark Jello you can't eat post-op? I am 8 days away from surgery and just stocked up on Strawberry sugar-free jello?!    — Kristin M. (posted on May 20, 2003)

Kristin... the reason is you will have a drain tube in your abdomen, and red jello will look like blood draining into your tube. After the drain is removed, you can have red jello. Hope this helps :)

<font color="007000" face="tahoma">Kristin...fing out from your Doc if you will be going home with the drain tube. I have read many profiles on here that said they did, but then just as many who did not. I, myself, had my drain removed in the hospital. Good Luck to you!</font>
