Question:
What sort of changes should be expected in personal relations?
I know this may seem odd. I don't want to make myself sound bad. What I would like to know is how does/has WLS effected your sexual appitite? And, how long before you felt like you could have sex? — sweetglow (posted on January 23, 2001)

Oh...<whimper>> the lust for sex comes back and your self esteem

In my experience my whole attitude is different about things,
in general, for me sex is G-R-A-N-D! It helps that I truely love
my husband, and that we have been together forever. My body is
easier to move in now and I don't feel like a beached whale.
And as for the second question- I don't remember how long it was
after my surgery, I do remember we just took it slow, so not to
cause any pain, there were 2 creeps at the hospital that
yanked me up out of bed the 1st night and popped a stitch
or 2 on the inside and that was truely painful and slowed
me down abit. Good Luck to you...

Sex drive is great! At least not any worse than pre-op, and probably better
because you can move around better and have more energy. My husband and I
waited three weeks after my Lap RNY to actually have intercourse, but
"fooled around" a little before that. I was ready after two
weeks. Well, felt like I wanted to anyway! ;-) Just have to be careful
about your incision, and your stomach. Just find a comfy position and
enjoy!
