I pureed most any protein (and cooked veggies or beans) in a broth or
stock...You want to slowly introduce new foods so you learn which ones you
can and cannot tolerate immediately...
One day you might not be able to eat chicken and the next day you
will...Then next month you won't again! Eventually I was able to tolerate
all foods again...Some only in moderation...but that's a good thing! To
veggie soup add unflavored protein powder/lentils/cooked soy/finely pureed
meat. Soft proteins like eggs and yogurt and cottage cheese I was eating in
the hospital Day 1...Eggs did bother me though for the first year and then
some! It was the egg yolk (cholesterol) I think. I did well with egg
beater though...I eat eggs no trouble years PO...Also I became lactose
intolerant soon after RNY (another reason to slowly introduce new foods so
you do not get very ill on several items and you'll know which foods you
need to try again another day, week, or next year!!
Good luck!

I am a day further out than you, and I can eat soft foods that don't have
to be pureed. I eat cottage cheese, apple sauce, yogurt, chili, ground
turkey, egg beaters, ff cheese, cheese sticks, soft vegetables, applesauce,
pita bread, crispbread, tuna, salmon. Just make sure you chew really well
before you swallow! Hope this helps.
