Question:
I'm 1 year out and have NEVER dumped on ANYTHING. Is this OK?
I don't dump on sugar, breads, or anything most people do. I vomit instantly over real fatty foods (i.e. anything fried and greasy) but it's not dumping like my NUT described. Is this normal?? — nubiangodess624 (posted on August 22, 2009)

From what I have read 60-70% of rny patients will have dumping syndrome.
You must be in the 30-40% that doesn't, as the above posting stated, this
could be good or bad depending on how much trouble high glycemic index
carbs give you. Good luck in everything! Kevin

In my case, I have "mini-dumping episodes", not the full out
described syndrome. I get a bit hot, sweaty, nauseous and light-headed for
a half-hour or so, usually after high fat foods too. I think both your
vomiting and my episodes of discomfort probably fall into "dumping
syndrome".

I've never experienced it either. Not even once! I'm almost 2 years out. I
can eat anything I want. Sweets, breads, sauces, ice cream, pizza, fries,
etc. I can eat anything I ate pre-surgery with no problem at all. I think
it's a curse. I would like the 'kick in the pants' as a reminder to stay on
course.

I am the same way I can eat anything. The only thing I have noticed is that
when I eat ice cream I feel wierd like light headed and like I am drifting
off to another world. This usually happend like 30 minutes after I eat it.
So I try to stay away from Ice Cream. Everthing else I can eat. But I feel
so guilty after eatting it that I go to the gym to work some of it off. It
a curse I AGREE!! lol
