Question:
Can I lose more weight? I had my gastric bypass over 3yrs ago and I want to lose 30
more pounds. Can someone help me? I only lost 60 lbs because I got pregnant right after I had my surgery so I was depressed and did not care if I lost weight. I was depressed and worried about my baby. I wnt to lose 20 more lbs is it too late? — Tiffany L. (posted on July 23, 2009)

No, it's not too late. I am almost 5 years post op and just lost 30 pounds.
Just have to work a little harder. I joined Weight Watchers and started
running. You have to find out what is keeping you back, grazing, slider
foods, no exercise and tackle it. Easier said then done, but you can do it.
The tool is still there, get it out of hibernation and use it. One day at a
time. Good Luck.

You can do anything that you set your mind to.The other post mentioned WW.
It's a fairly good program as far as getting proper nuitrition. That, and
they do go over different strategies on how to handle situations that come
up. The only reason that I'm saying this is because I'm pre-op and am
doing Weight Watchers. My surgery is tentatively August 26(if my insurance
doesn't screw things up) and have lost over 35 pounds already. Most days are
fine but I do have days that I have to remind myself why I'm doing
it.(they're the days that the mind and bad habits try and come back to
haunt me.)

From what I understand, you're just like any 'normal' person that wants to
lose weight. Just have to work at it and get in the right mind-set to lose
those pounds. it's never too late to lose weight. Just keep a positive
attitude, set up some goals, if need be, join like weight watchers, get
into an exercise program or walk/jog. you can do it! just think positive
and know there are pople on here that will support you.

I don't think it is ever to late... It isn't going to be easy but it can
be done. Talk to your nut and see what kind of ideas they have... Good
Luck and keep us posted

You just need to go back to the basics. eat lots of protien, little carbs
and exercise. You can set up good eating patterns now that you teach your
baby. They can grow up healthy and not have to struggle like you did.

I had surgery 4 years ago. I started at 374, got down to 161...went
through "life", and got back up to 206. I have joined Weight
Watchers, which is an outstanding program. I like the weekly
accountability. I am down to 198...sticking to program. The ongoing
support is what I needed. The one thing I will say is that with any
program you do, you will have to take into consideration the fact that you
need more protein and that some foods make us dump(if we're lucky). Make
the necessary changes. You can do this. Good Luck!!!
