Stock up on Campbell's creamed soups and sugar free popsicles! Oh, and
Crystal Light, too. And, congratulations! You are getting ready to do
yourself the biggest favor you can ever imagine. Good luck and God bless
you!!!

Follow your directions! Get up and walk every hour as soon as they have
you walking - that was key! I have lost 32lbs. in exactly one month! I
will be praying for you - it is a life-change and worth all the effort.I
agree with the sugar free popsicles too - they are my favorite!

I drank alot of propel and sugar free kool-aid. Just remember to sip, sip,
sip because you don't want to get dehydrated..It is very easy to get
dehydrated..So sipping constantly is what you need to do in the beginning.
Good luck

walk walk walk...do whatever you can to get rid of the gas. That way your
water trials will go well. Ask for a lil pillow to go between your legs if
you lay on your side or for coughing..you press it against your belly.
Really made a difference for me. Congrats and best of luck to you! See you
ont he losing side! hugs, kim

I had my RNY June 29th, and everything is going great. I went to see my
doctor Friday I lost 13 pounds. I'm at a total now of 35 pounds. Walk, sip
your water, and follow everything they tell you to do. It was hard to eat
cottage cheese and apple sauce three times a day but I did it.
Good Luck, and welcome to the loser bench. Theresa L

Iso-Pure ready to drink bottles (Grape Frost, Icy Orange, and Pineapple
Orange Banana), and New Whey Protein Bullets (grape, fruit punch, blue
raspberry, and orange)....both available from the Vitamin Shoppe or GNC.
The Iso-Pure is like adult koolaid, and the bullets are a little tart and
thick, so I put them in double cups of Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry
Zinger or Tangerine Orange Zinger. They gave the tea a "zing"
that I miss now that I'm no longer using them. Also, like the others said,
walk, walk, walk. The more you walk, the better you'll feel. Also, I did
a lot of "home prep" before I went to the hospital. I went to
the liquor store and bought some of those jello-shooter cups because they
are just a fraction more than an ounce, and I made a whole tray of jello -
some with Any Whey protein powder in them and some without. But it was
enough to last me about 3-4 days. I also made some fat-free, sugar-free
instant pudding in those cups before I left for the hospital. Then, when I
came home, we didn't have to hussle to get my "food" ready.

The last few days before your surgery you might be a bit anxious, excited
and nervous all rolled into one. But that is NORMAL! I am not sure which
procedure you are having done, but it is safe to say that you should stock
up on broths, boullion cubes, juices, sugar free jello, etc. for your first
week or however long your doc wants you on clears. Every WLS doc has
different post-op instructions, just follow his!! Also, walk as much as
possible as soon as possible after the surgery to alleviate the gas and
prevent blood clots in your legs. Also you may have "buyers
remorse" for a week or so. I know I did. I GRIEVED for food almost as
if I had lost a best friend. I kind of did, food was my addiction and my
answer to anger, depression, boredom, you name it. Just remember if you
start feeling this way that it is normal also.
Wishing you a speedy recovery..........see you on the losing side!!
Hugs,
Trish

Take your chapstick to the hospital!!! It doesn't matter if you pack
anything else. You will be in and out after surgery and will not want to
read the book you take with you but your lips WILL be dry and your favorite
lip treatment will be your best friend.
Best wishes and welcome to the other side of the bench!!!
