Question:
What does it mean when your nose runs after eating?

It seems like everytime I eat and take just a few bites my nose runs???    — JAN M. (posted on May 17, 2009)

I get that with mild dumping...Try eating less/slower and chew better...It helps...It's usually my second body warning that I am about to dump...First warnings are twinges and mild jabs in my pouch...That's just my experience...

I agree with Anita, my nose starts to run right before I get sick. I have had eight strictures in the past year, so my nose runs alot!!!!! LOL Ana Villa, RN

My nose runs right before I start vomiting (sorry for being so graphic). When it starts to run, I know I have to get to the bathroom quickly.

I am almost 6 years out and from day 1 my nose has run when I get full, mine has nothing to do with dumping. Before I even get the full sensation my nose starts to run. Everyone around me knows what it means and as soon as I wipe my nose at the table everyone says "Looks like Lisa is full already".

I've had a runny nose since the day I had surgery and I'm always cold. I dunno. Sorry I'm no help.

That is usually my early "I am full" signal.

My surgeon said that is an indication that you have eaten too much. Your pouch is full....

Thank for asking this question when I have eaten something I should not have or eat too much, I have alot of mucus in my throat. I thought it was my imagination that this only occured at these times glad to know it is a common problem.
