Question:
long term effects
i am out 3 years but does anyone know of anyone who has had any long term complications from nutritional issues? if so what are some of the long term problems? — bonnie5655 (posted on March 30, 2009)

Yeah...I have had several vitamin deficiencies and anemia that started as
far as I know at year 4 ish Post Op...I am 5 years post Op right now and
due for labs when i can find some time from a hectic schedule at the
moment...It took me 6 months to get myself back in balance and I am hoping
that I am still doing well...I am exhausted...but again I am quite busy so
I'm not sure if it's my schedule or vitamin or thyroid troubles again...
Here is a link to an OH paper that i found recently and thought it was
quite a thorough paper to save...Go to page 11 and 12 for the general
problems with each specific vitamin deficiency...Hope that helps

Yes, I have heard of people having iron deficiencies and having to actually
have iv iron infusions every 3 months. I also have heard of people have B
and D deficiencies. The best thing is to eat high protein, take your
bariatric vitamins, and try to make sure everything you put in your mouth
is nutritious, high quality food.
