Question:
Within the last 2 months someone asked how to get rid of the bat arms.
What are good exercies to do to see a difference? — metlife09 (posted on August 8, 2008)

Your arms are made up of 3 major muscles. Biceps(front of the arm),
triceps(back of the arm) and deltoids(at your shoulder). Probably the most
helpful exercise would be the tricep kick back. You can probably Google it
and get a video of someone doing them.

You'd want to start out light with heavy repetition and seriously "go
for the burn" to shape up that muscle.
Everyone is different, but if you start with the underlaying muscle, you
can firm those muscles up under there and maybe burn off the bat wings more
easily.
You can never tell how much of a wing you'll have though, it depends a lot
on your skin's elasticity.
(I'm not a professional, but I used to work out a lot!)
Good luck!

I have lost over 200lbs with both of the surgeries I had done, and I have
exercised consistently trying to get rid of my batwings, they look
terrible, the skin just hangs, I have to buy shirts that are way to big
just to get my arms to fit in them, I dont know what exercise will get rid
of them, I am getting brachioplasty done. Good Luck to you.

You can build up your muscles to a certain point to fill in the loose skin
but your skin will only receed to a certain point. How long you have been
overweight, your age and your skins elasticity all play a huge part in it.
I worked out like a maniac and still needed to have an arm lift to removed
the loose skin. I have very muscular arms and they still look great more
than 3 years after the arm lift.

Exercise can help to a certain extent, but a great plastic surgeon is
really the only way to get rid of excess skin after major weight loss.
Good luck,
