Question:
After my 8th LapBand fill, I am eating uncontrolably?
I had my eighth lapband fill on Tuesday. I ate more yesterday than I could back in May when I had it put on. Anybody have a similar experience? I keep thinking something is wrong. Is it possible to get a leak from a fill? HELP?????? Thank you! — betsy2007 (posted on April 25, 2008)

You had a fill Tuesday, it is my understanding that you should have done 2
days of clear liquids, 1 day of full liquids, 1 day of mushy foods and then
on to chunky foods. Does your surgeon have you doing something different
or are you not following program?
Also, just because you can eat more, doesn't mean you should be eating
more.
No, I never have had a similar experience. After fills, I always feel more
restriction and can eat less and less. I suggest you contact your surgeon
and have him check it out.
Good luck to you,

I had the lap band surgery 2 years ago. Its takes a while to find your
perfect adjustment. Do you know how many cm's your band can hold? If, so do
you know now how many you have in? Your band is not leaking because once
the needle is removed the band seals immediately. Call your doctor and
explain to him your eating habits you made need another fill.

Could your band have slipped? I too feel more restricted after a fill-
but I also do liquids 2 days etc.. Maybe you need an x-ray? Good luck-

I would definately call your Doctor. At my Dr's office in Chicago, we can
go back for another adjustment for free if we call within 1 week. I think
it is possible to pierce the line that goes from the band to the port, but
I'm sure that's not your case, so don't worry. I would go back and have it
checked under xray w/barium. Good luck!

You need to check with your Dr for a possible leak if you have had
restriction previously.

I thought I was the only one! I just finished my 3rd fill and I still feel
hungry. Before I left the office my doctor told me I will probably need a
4th one. He says, we have to keep trying until we reach the right
adjustment. The dietitian says, it can take 6 mths.
As for the band, I thought something was wrong too. But, I can feel the
tightening around my stomach after a fill. I also still vomit if I eat too
fast or too much so I know it's still there.
Have you asked your Dr to do an X-ray to see if there's any leakage?

I am having that same problem. I am 3 months out of the lap-band and I
have only had one fill of 2.5 which they said will be my largest. I wonder
is there a leak in my line or port because I can eat almost as much as
before the surgery with out any problems. I have only lost about 10 pounds
and I really thought this was to loose more. I am beginning to regret
having this surgery because my incisions are itching and hurting at times.
I do not want to complain but right now...it was not worth it.
