Question:
Anyone out there 5'8 or 5'9 with weight around 270 PreOp?

I had gastric bypass Feb 23,2006 and would love to see how everyone else is doing that are about the same height and weight as I was Pre Op. I also have a large frame. (of course I think I have a large frame, some folks realize they really didn't have a large frame after all, Post Op.) I would like to see some after pics of you to give me some idea of how I might look in about a year. And I know everyone is different,I would just like some sort of idea. Thanks~ Melissa    — WannaBSlim (posted on July 7, 2006)

I'm shorter than you, but I was about 263 the day of surgery. I just had to respond to your Larger frame response LOL I really thought I had a large frame, but now that I'm down to the smallest I've ever been, I don't think that is/was the case LOL Just had to share that!

I am only 5'4, but I weighed 265 lbs on the day of surgery in July of 2005. I now weigh 149 lbs after one year and have gone from a size 26-28 to size 10. Friends who have not seen me in the last year do not recognize me until I talk to them. It is wonderful.

Hi Melissa, I had Gastric ByPass Feb. 2, 2004. If you look up my profile, I have photos taken before (327 lbs) and in Oct. 2004. Are you feeling better? Are you more active? That is how to judge how you are doing. You don't need to compair your journey with anybody else as each persons journey is their own. Just be happy and excited about your new life. Aren't you excited about your new life? I am 2 1/2 yrs out and I am still amazed and excited. Just stick with the program and you will live "Happily Ever After" Good Luck - Judy Harris, OH Support Group Leader. Thornton Colorado

Hello Melissa... I am 3 1/2 months post op and have already lost 67lbs. I went from a size 22 to a 14. I have noticed that I have lost more inches than what the scale shows me. I still look at myself in the mirror and I still do not see what others see. I get encouraged when I read the testimonies and look at pictures of those that have accomplished what I so much long for. Keep up the good work. Many blessings as you reach your goal. Martha

Hi Melissa! I had my RNY in April of 2003, over 3 years ago. At the time I was 5'8", weighed 295.5, and was wearing a size 26. I got down to 140 after about a year and a half, but have maintained at about 165 for the past year. I'm wearing sizes 12 & 14. Wouldn't mind taking off another 20-25 pounds, but need to be more disciplined about working out. Just joined a health club, so planning to start a consistent routine. I wish I could post pictures, but I'm technologically challenged. Besides my husband & kids, this surgery has been the biggest blessing in my life! Blessings on your weightloss!

Well I am one of those unfortunate people that DOES have a LARGE frame!! (Maybe an EXTRA LARGE frame!!). My lowest weight was 154 (I am barely 5'4", recommended weight is 110-140 I think).. And I looked SICK, my bones were poking through the skin, And I could wear a size 8, my sister weighs 140ish and wears a 12!!! So I guess I needed a large frame all those years to carry around 369 pounds, LOL!!
