Helo Ms Quan,
I did not experience it the same as you however my cycle did start the day
of my surgery. I have always been iregular but immediately after having WLS
it regulated. I always know the exact date it will start now. You may want
to speak with your surgeon as well as your OB/GYN to verify that everything
is ok.
I hope this helps ...

I have been VERY irregular for years due to PCOS. I started my period the
day after my surgery. I was freaked out that when they took out my
cathiter, I was bleeding, but it was just my cycle starting. Since then, I
have been almost right as rain, just about every 35 days or so. It's
amazing!

Since my surgery my period has been very very heavy...much more than
ususal. I have not talked to my doctor yet...but plan to. As far as
regularity.....it's only been two months..and both started on time. (LAP

Your body stores hormones in fat cells. When we lose weight rapidly this
releases the hormones at a frequent rate causing a fluctuation in your
cycle for a few months. I went to my gyn and she put me on the orthoevra
patch to help regulate me. No problems since.

Yes. this happened to me and my surgeon had warned me about it. I believe
it's from the anesthesia. It it very common.

I have had periods every 2-2 1/2 weeks for 4 months now. I am told that
the hormone levels flucuate drasctically with rapid weight loss as hormones
are stored in the fat tissue. I am even on birth control pills and still
no luck. Hang in there and things will balance out eventually.

Everytime I have anykind of surgery my period starts the day after surgery.
Even if it just stopped the day before surgery. My doctor said it is
because the surgery is a huge shock to my body.

Hello,
I had my period a week before surgery, and actually started spotting again
while in the hospital, right afetr surgery. I believe it's very normal:)
I'm 3 years out, and never had problems, in fact got pregnant 9 months
out.
Best wishes healing.
