Question:
I Have BC/BS PPO. I live in NYC. How Long did it take for approval

I live in Michigan and have BCBS PPO Community Blue. It took 5 weeks for approval on my wls and 4 weeks for approval on my abdominalplasty. Good luck. The wait is probably the worst part of this surgery.

I have BCBS ppo. I had lap rny about a year and a half ago. At that time it only took about a week to get approval, and it was approved on the first try. Just keep on them about it. Don't let your paperwork " get lost" or " misplaced" which I've heard happen to others. Good Luck to you.

Took me 3 weeks to get approval through BC/BS POS. They are good about approving this surgery as long as you meet the minimum qualifications. Then it's up to you to get the PreOp tests scheduled asap. They did require a psych evaluation before final approval. I live in California.

took me alomost 6 months to get all the test done that they wanted and to get the finally okay.Ask ? if they turn you down and ask what all you will need to get approval.

I got my answer within 18 hours after submitting request to the insurance company. I had all of my tests done and psych eval done in a week.
