Question:
Too late to start actigall?
Hello, everyone. I'm 3 months post-op Lap RNY. My starting weight was 254, and I'm now at 203. I had a wonderful surgery and recovery, no complications, and am feeling normal and healthy at this point with normal energy levels. I never started taking my actigall after surgery, even though my surgeon prescribed it (she does this for everyone). I just couldn't face taking another pill with all of the vitamins, etc. But now, I'm wondering if not taking it was a bad decision, and if anyone else has done the same thing. Also, do you think it would benefit me to start it now? I haven't told my surgeon that I am not taking it. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks. — Carlita (posted on December 15, 2003)

Carla, Don't feel bad I did the same thing. I am only 2 months post-op and
I could not stomach dissolving that stuff and drinking it. It would make me
gag. However I was honest with my surgeon and explained the situation and
he said, It's Not Too Late. I can drink it whole now and just started
taking it Friday. So I think you'll be fine. But just to be sure you might
want to check with your doctor. After all what's the worst that could
happen;)!
Best of Luck! Lizette

I never took actigall at all and now he prescribes it for new 6 mo. postops
but I don't have any problems at all. I just make sure I get the fat I
need.
