Question:
Where should I be at 15 weeks post Lap RNY?

I'm interested in hearing from others who started out the same as me 5'2" with a BMI of about 46.5 and weighed from 237-250 (basically *lightweights*)~~Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about my weight loss, but concerned that I must be doing something wrong. Why is it everyone else is losing more in shorter times than me? I had my surgery 3 months ago, using Real Meals, also Protocookies, water, walking, etc...Where should I be in this process? I know everyone is difference, but this is something that I'd like to "map out" so that I can realistically set some goals.    — yourdivaness (posted on December 17, 2002)

I started at 5'3" and 249. Go to the bottom of my profile for a month by month chart of how much weight I have lost each month for comparison. I'm sure, though, you have been told not to compare your loss to others. I know how hard that is to not do, but its true-we all lose differently. there are some lightweights that sail through and go below where they wanted to go with no plateaus and others that do it slow and steady and others that have plateaus every other day! For that matter, its not just the lightweights that experience that either. Before you think something is "wrong" examine what you are doing with your food intake. Are you concentrating on protein, drinking lots of water, not snacking, lo carb and sugar, eating small frequent meals (or at least 3X a day), and exercising? If so, then you are definitely doing the right things and you may just be one of those "slow, but I'll get there" losers. You can try shaking up your diet plan for a week by eating more protein, or eating 5 or 6 times a day instead of just 3 X a day, or drinking extra water or doing different exercises..sometimes that works. Good luck.
