Question:
How can we get Obesity Surgery Seminars in Georgia?
I posted this question before, and did not get "1" response and that was about a year or so ago. I'll try it this way and then if there is no response, I'll send a message to the website founder. Will there ever be a chance that Obesity Surgery Seminars are done in Georgia? I've not heard of one since I've been here and since I've been a member on this website. There are PLENTY of people hurting and suffering from obesity and it's related illnesses... — yourdivaness (posted on July 9, 2002)

Hi! I am the Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator at a large hospital in
Alabama. We have two weight loss surgeons who perform both RNY and Lap
Band at our hospital. These surgeons are the ones who conduct the
seminars. We present a power point presentation and then have a question
and answer session. Our surgeons stay and talk as long as folks in the
audience have questions to ask. We also provide them with a packet of
information. This is all done free of charge. It's a wonderful way to
explain programs and procedures to potential patients and their families
and friends. Now to answer your question... there are many weight loss
surgeons in Georgia. In order to have seminars you would probably want to
contact their office and suggest it to their office manager. You might
consider contacting local hospitals where weight loss surgery is performed
and suggest they consider hosting seminars as well. It is something that
is strictly up to the hospitals and surgeons. Good luck to you!

There is a wonderful program in Gainesville, Georgia--The program is led by
Dr. Dan Proctor. There is a public information meeting every month, they
just had one on the 3rd of this month. I will find out when the next
meeting will be and get back to you.

I believe the next public information meeting in Gainesville is on Aug. 7th
at 6:00pm. You can call Lori Rogers at Dr. Proctor's office at
770-534-0110 for more information. These meetings are held monthly;
usually on the first Weds. of the month. I've attended one of Dr.
Proctor's seminars prior to my surgery and LOVED it. His presentation is
filled with lots of information. Email me if I can answer any questions
for you - C.

would like to join the group please click on the link below. We would love
to have you as a member.
