Question:
Does anyone know of Dr. Champion's new assistant, Dr. Mike Williams?

As of June, I've come to know that Dr. Champion has a new physician working with him by the name of Dr. Mike Williams. Has anyone heard of Dr. Williams? What type of surgeries has he performed? I'd be interested in hearing from everyone-particularly Dr. Champion's patients regardless to whether the surgery is open or lap rny.    — yourdivaness (posted on July 2, 2002)

Four of us in our family have had lap RNY surgery with Dr. Champion over the past 2 1/2 years. Although I do not know any details about Dr. Williams, my association with Dr. Champion assures me that he would never introduce a partner into his practice without thoroughly researching and approving his credentials, training, and level of expertise. The office staff speaks very highly of this new surgeon and he will also be offering laparascopic WLS. As one of the foremost pioneers in the field of lap WLS, and with an international reputation for his skills in this field, Dr. Champion would not jeopardize his reputation by association with a surgeon of questionable caliber. My older daughter will be having her lap RNY in September, and although she is also scheduled with Dr. Champion, I would have felt comfortable with Dr. Williams. Good luck!
