Question:
PAINS ON LEFT SIDE.
Has anyone experience sharp stabbing pains on the left side of stomach. It doesn't happen all the time. Most the time it's a dull pain and around 4 times a day it's a sharp stabbing pain that happens all of a sudden. I had surgery on Jan 7th. — TAMARA J. (posted on March 25, 2002)

I'm Pre-op but it reminds me of when I was having gallbladder pain a few
years back.

Does it feel like someone is squeezing you from the inside? Almost like you
cannot pin point the pain location and it feels gassy w/pressure, but you
are not gassy? If so, that like what I had with my Gallbladder... I had
mine removed 1 year after my WLS. I was so happy it was removed!

I had my surgery 1/2/02 and would have the same pains and my surgeon said
it is the body healing on the inside. I had mine LAP and the biggest
instrument goes in on the left side and that's why it is more tender right
after surgery. I haven't had the pain since about 5-weeks post op.

I have had the same pain on my left side. I have noticed that it hurts
mostly when I breath heavily and then I can not catch my breath. I spoke
with my surgeon and he said that it is probally basically healing pains.
He put me on 50 mgs of vioxx a day and that seems to have helped.
