I remember when I had my RNY in June 2009 I hade a similar pain sudden,
sharp and quickly over) for the first maybe 2 weeks....It did pass but at
the time it was quite scary. If the pain is severe or you are truely
worried you can always visit your family doctor or urgent care or if it is
severe or accompanied by other symptoms: nausea, vomiting, no bowel
movements, intense diarrhea or urinary tract problems; etc.....you have
the ER as an option.....just a thought.
Will keep you in my prayers.........

I had the same pain, for a while but I called my surgeon and he adviced me
to go directly into the emergency room, one there they ran an array of test
and everything was fine...but I could barely drink or keep anything down,
and I became so dehidrated that I could barely talk, breathe or standand,
they addmited me into the hospital and hidrated me, when I saw my dr again
he told me that he was going to send me for an endoscopi because he thought
I had a blockeage....sure enough....once that was taken care of I had no
more pain and felt 100% better...DONT WAIT call your dr make an appoinment
with him and then go into the ER....better be safe than sorry....Good Luck
and God Bless...

I had my open RNY surgery on November 15, 2011 and I still have the same
type of pain when I move. The doctor says it isn't anything to worry about
and I don't have any other symptoms so I just move slowly and it is
gradually getting better. Hang in there.

I still remember that pain and my RNY was in Feb 04. I was admitted to the
hospital overnight A barrage of tests. Nothing wrong. The pain could be
from cutting through the muscle. The muscle has many layers and is painful
healing.
