Hi..Glad you are still among us to go on this new path for your life. Best
of luck to you! I was told..to keep my sugar under 7grams. If I use a 8
oz glass of milk with my pprotein..I get a awful headache & icky
feeling. NOT fun. So, for me I stay under 7grms. Have you checcked with
anyone else in the Drs office? See you on losers bench!

I try to stay under 8 grams of sugar because I don't want to experience
dumping. My NUT said that is a good number to shoot for to try a stay safe
from that. Although everyone is different. I also don't want to experience
sugar cravings which I haven't yet. Good luck making your decision.

I honestly think it depends a little bit on how far our of surgery you are
and what kind of sugar grams. For me, I'm about 11 months out and I can eat
a good bit of fruit and can tolerate fructose far better than I can refined
sugars. I shoot for 10 grams and less, but some things can have up to 15
(though I try to avoid those whenever possible). When I was in my first 6
months, I couldn't even tolerate milk. Now I can have a glass. You'll find
the right balance for you - just take your time and listen to your body.

My NUT told us that there is no magic number. Everybody is different.
Some can handle more than others. I, personally, have not had any problems
with dumping, but I'm scared to death that I'm going to, or worse, NOT
going to, so I try to avoid it like the plaque! LOL! I just try to go
with the formula that if the grams of protein are twice that of the grams
of sugar, then it should be safe. So far it's worked and my NUT says
that's a good formula to have. Best of luck to you! Take care, Kristin

Hi! My clinic lieks up to stay in the single digits when it comes to
sugar. You can pretty sure you won't get sick if you eat 9 or less grams
unless you are very sensitive to it. I wouldn't advise higher..as it comes
with a risk of dumping and you will get your body used to dealing with
sugar easier and faster. I personally wanted my body to reject it for as
long as possible, so i couldn't cheat! lol I stay under 10 or skip the
food. Best of luck to you! hugs,Kim
