It depends on many factors including whether or not you have had prior
abdominal surgery. Usuual range is from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours plus time in
recovery. I went night-night in pre-op at about 8:30am and was in my room
at 11am with actual OR time of about 1 1/2 hours. Hope that helps.Kevin

I had laproscopic RNY. I was told the avg time for this was about 1 hour.
Mine took 2 hrs but only because my surgeon discovered a small hernia and
repaired it. My hospital was great. A nurse came out and informed my
husband about every 30 minutes how things were going. He was shocked at the
near play-by-play reporting they gave him....and grateful of course. I
can't say enough goods things about how well organized their
bariatric/surgery dept. was throughout my entire hospital stay. A great
experience for a first major surgery which really helps mentally for both
patient and family.

More or less 2 hours that includes pre-surgical setup, surgery, and
recovery. Best to you!

Me again! I would appreciate it soooooo much if I could get some responses
on what brands of protein drinks you found to have the best flavor. Right
now I am using EAS Chocolate flavor and it's just NASTY! Any suggestions
would be wonderful!

I use muscle milk light and just found muscle milk protien which is even
less calories. I have issues with how sweet diet things taste so I add
hersheys cocoa to mine which cuts the sugary taste but makes it richer and
no added calories.

My RHNY was on Nov.23. From the time they took me to surgery to when I came
out of recovery was 8 hrs. The surgeon told my husband that they found a
hiatial hernia so I had two surgeries at the same time. The whole bottom of
my face was black and blue and they said they had trouble intubating me. It
was a looooong time.
