Question:
Is this normal?
I am able to eat anything I want. Of course I do have porton control but I feel as I can eat more and I never feel full. I have eaten up to 10 oz and still don't feel full. Did I stretch my pouch? I had lapband 8/21/08. — myemie (posted on November 10, 2008)

Perhaps you just need a fill? I was in your situation about 5 years ago
when i got my lapband. I lost about 30 pounds in 4 months and then felt
like I could eat a lot. I got about 3 fills and other than just the food
getting stuck and being in pain, I never felt full after only a small
portion. I gained all the weight back and about 30 more pounds. So now i'm
here trying to get a revision. I really hope your lapband is successful.
Get to your doctor and get a fill. Don't get discouraged. There are so many
people that were successful with the lapband.

It's very unlikely that you have stretched your pouch in just a couple of
months. Sounds like you could use a little more restriction in the way of
a fill. This is the great part of having the band, totally adjustable so
you can get to the sweet spot of being able to eat a small portion and be
completely satisfied. Also, remember- it is very important to eat until
you reach satiety, not until you are full. You will get the full
understanding of this when you have a good amount of restriction. If you
eat until you are satisfied and keep going, you will have pain, sliming and
vomiting and it's not fun. I would suggest you call your surgeon and get
in and get a little adjustment. Best of luck.

If you are able to eat 10 ounces this early out it sounds like you need to
have your band adjusted. I have a friend who had the lap band and over a 6
month period has over 9 adjustments. Contact your surgeon for assistance.
I do not think you stretched your pouch. Hugs to you all wrapped up tight.
Give your doc a call.

I hear that it's unlikely that you stretched your pouch. You may want to
check on getting a fill. I've also heard that sometimes it takes awhile
for the system to realize that you are full. But best to check with your
doctor about a fill. Best Wishes, Corina

I HAS TO LAUGH WHEN WAS READING YOU POST, NOT TO LONG AGO I WAS FEELING THE
SAME WAY, NO YOU HASNT STRETCH YOUR BAND, IT JUST SOUND LIKE YOU NEED A
ADJUSTMENT, AFTER MY ADJUSTMENT BOY DID I KNOW IT, YOU LEARN WHAT SMALL
PORTION ARE IN REAL LIFE, DAWN SPOKE THE TRUTH YOU WILL EXPERIENCE HOW TO
MAKE SMALL PIECES INTO SMALLER PIECES, BECAUSE SLIMING, AND PAINFUL FEELING
OF UNABLE TO BURP TO GET RELEASE, VOMITING AINT FUN. REMEMBER WHEN YOU EAT
YOU STOMACH THE SIZE OF AN EGG, AND WHEN YOU DO THE 1ST COUPLE SPOON/FORK
FULL STOP AND WAITED 2-3 MINUTES AND YOU WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENT.
