Hi my name is Patricia Patton. Tina you didn't mention if you are on
medication which might contribute to the slow weight loss. are you moving
around? I think everything is individualized with this surgery. The amt of
food your taking in seems to be within the guidelines. Are you drinking
your fluids required? When is your next surgeon's appt. If concerned HE is
your true resource person. I want to encourage you to be compliant to your
surgeon's protocol. Write me I am pdplpn. I am so excited for you. I am 7
months out and have lost 132 lbs and feel fantastic.

You should be having a one month check up soon. Ask your doctor about your
progress. Normal one month blood test is done then too. So your doctor
should be able to gage your progress. Be sure to have your protein
"shakes" inbetween your meals, as part of your fluid intake.

i had my rny 10-1 and the first 2 1/2 weeks i lost 17 pounds but then did
not loose anymore for over 2 weeks. be patient it is your body's way of
dealing with the trauma of the surgery. i was eating only a couple tbsps
per meal then and only ate like 2 times a day plus my protein shake. even
now i only eat small amounts like: 1/2 banana or 1/2 cup cereal for
breakfast, 1/2 peice of fish from long john silvers for lunch, 1 boiled egg
and 4 bites of stuffing for lunch, 3/4 of a crunchy taco with just meat and
cheese like from taco bell for supper, etc. and i only eat 2 maybe 3 times
a day. i do not have much of an appetite and am having a hard time most
days getting in my fluids. it just takes a while and everybody is
different. i have lost 35 pounds and feel great!! you will continue to
loose and the weight will start falling off. Good luck!! email me any time
if you have questions or just want to talk...hope this helps...Holly

Hello, I had my rny on the same date as you and I've lost 40 lbs. I had my
2 week check up at 3 weeks and doctor was happy with my weight loss. I
still don't see much of a difference, I started at 374 but others tell me
they do. I've done perfectly but today had my first dumping experience and
it was not good, in fact it started about 2 1/2 hours ago and I'm still
feeling sick. But anyway, check with your doctor. Last week I gained 6
lbs and my doctor said I was retaining water but imagine my disappointment
when I saw the weight gain on the scale instead of loss. Everyone is
different and it also depends on if you're exercising and getting your
liquids in. Keep up the good work....we are all here for each other.
