IT'S NORMAL, YOUR WATER WEIGHT HAS COME OFF FROM SURGERY, JUST STICK TO A PLAN UNTIL YOU GET FILLED AND SOMETIMES YOUR FIRST FILL IS NOT ENOUGH RESTRICTION. I AM ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES WHO STILL HAS RESTRICTION AND ONE FILL!...REMEMBER BAND LOSS VARIES AND IS SLOWER...GOOD LUCK!

I also lost 20lbs in 2 weeks than i also slowed down...you have to remember, it took you a lifetime to gain it, give it time, you will loose it! also remember to stick to the program...it will come off!! god bless you!!

Same here...had band surgery on 9/4, lost 21.5 lbs. and now I go up and down 1 little pound, but we're not restricted right now once the swelling from the surgery goes down. Also, it's hard (at least for me) to eat the portions the nutritionist gave me because of the fact that is no restriction. I told my surgeon that I was hungry and his answer was to eat, he said as long as I made sure that I was truly hungry and not "head-hungry" then I should eat. He said we don't worry about weight loss right now, we're just concerned with healing. Once the band gets filled then the weight loss can resume. Good Luck :)

It is normal. The first 2 wks you have the fluid from the iv's and the swelling from the surgery is a natural resistant. Now that the swelling has gone down, you have no resistance. Once everything heals and you start getting the fills, the resistance will return and you will lose again. Maybe not 10 lbs a week, but it will start coming off. In the meantime, watch what you are eating and your quanities. Good Luck-Judy Harris

Like everyone says - that's normal. I know it is disheartening though! Hang in there - it takes a while for you to get adjusted to your new lifestyle. The band is a TOOL not a miracle. I am 19 weeks out and have lost 33 pounds - but it is still hard work. Stay with the calorie restrictions, eat healthy and exercise if you can ( I haven't - my bad!) Still after 19 weeks, I still struggle with the proper foods, but it is WORTH it - just hang in there. I was frustrated like you are the beginning, but am pretty happy now. It make take a fill out two to get the best fit. I had two fills and then a subtraction to get it just right. Drink, drink, drink too. Geed Luck and hang in there. Remember nothing tastes as good as feeling slim feels!
