what is a revision?

A revision can mean several things. For me I had hiatial hernia repair surgery. My doctor had to do a revision on me when he did my RNY. In other words, he reversed the hiatial hernia repair so he could perform the RNY. I usually means to re-do something acording to a doctor's vocabulary.
