Hi Kathy,
I am 5 years post op and I am just about 60 years old. Don't feel it any
more though. Before I had the surgery I was told that I probably wouldn't
make it to much longer and now after losing 150 pound initially and I do go
up and down about 10 pounds but my Dr. said that is kind of normal. I will
be willing to watch my weight. I am very diligent with the scale, I have
to weigh everyday so that I can catch anything it shouldn't read. I just
go back on to my basics and it usually drops right off. I am going to try
and lose about 15 more pounds. Went from wearing a size 32 dress to a
sixteen and my pants went from a 4x to a size 10. Don't worry about
anything except for having the surgery and getting on with a wonderful
life. I sure am glad I did it and never will look back to wonder if I
shouldn't have. I am so much healthier and have a lot more energy. Good
Luck to you, I will be thinking of you!!!!

Hi Kathy. I am glad you are still willing to struggle with your weight to
help your health. It is easy to lose sight of the wonderful benefits we
have had in the past. I looked at your profile, and there is nothing
there, so I don't know anything about your journey, but I will say this to
you. Where ever you are in your struggle, fight the fight. Even though
you had surgery a long time ago, you still have a tool you can use. Use
that tool. Care about what you put into your mouth, join weight watchers
or some place that will get you back on track. Then get back on track.
Obesity is a head issue with a body consequence. Deal with the head issues
and you will be able to accept what is going on with your body. You are
not a victim of your own body, you have the tool and the control, just
tackle the head issues that are leading the decisions you are making. Go
back to basics, water, protein and exercise. No excuses to yourself, and
go one day at a time. You are strong enough to have surgery, you are
strong enough now to maintain what you have lost, and re lose what you
gained. There are so many resources in our society to help us out, find
out what works for you and get that help. Your health is worth it. Best
to you. PatriciaP
