Question:
Can an self funded employer add an exclusion to the health plan at any time?

I am in the appeals process and working with an attorney who has already been in contact with my employer. I am sure they added this because of me specificly. Can they do this?    — Glamazon (posted on July 27, 2006)

I would suggest checking with your states Insurance Commission office. Some states have regulations as to what a company can and can't do. In Maryland, if you have 50 or more employees, you have to cover the surgery.
