Question:
Suggestions for sites with average monthly weight loss for the first year
Can anyone suggest a site that has a table of average weight loss by month for the first year post surgery? Thanks — BMitchem (posted on May 2, 2006)

I understand your desire to know what others are losing and how you
compare, but I seriously encourage you not to compare yourself. There are
so many factors involved in weightloss......the original excess weight,
your metabolism, your activity level, the combination of proteins, carbs
and liquids you are consuming, etc.
I have been disappointed in my slow weight loss, but it finally
occurred to me that I weigh less right now than I have in over 12 years, so
the wls is working, just not "overnight".
I have lost 42 pounds in five months.......certainly not earth
shattering, but at this rate, I will reach my goal in one year, which is
okay by me since it took a lot longer than one year to get in this shape.
My Dr. has informed me that 2 pounds per week is an excellent loss and
I look healthy and feel healthy.
Good luck at achieving your goals.......weight related and not!

I agree with Laura, don't start comparing yourself to what other people
have or have not lost. Everyone is different and it also depends on what
you now eat and how you exercise. There will be times that you will not
lose any weight for a few months -- this is something that the clinics
should be re-enforcing to their patients. Everyone is not going to lose at
the same rate. Everyone who has had the surgery doesn't lost 60 pounds in
4 weeks. So just keep doing what is working for you and all will be fine.
