what are the benefits of flax seed oil?

Tiffany , Hi I take flax seed oil because it is supposed to have the same health benefits as Omega-3 fish oil ,(the bottle says for crdiovascular,digestive and joint health)I tried fish oil and kept burping up this disgusting fishy- lakey taste YUCKO! I stand by my flax my husband and I have taken it for years.
