Question:
I am starting to get hungry....four months out....down 60lbs.
I think I am eating too much....going to Curves to exercise...loosing my hair....started to take zinc...any suggestions??? Is is normal to hit a plateau for weeks?? I also drink some wine at nite....I also have one cup of tea in the morning (not decaf)....Any advice?? — MaryEL (posted on February 16, 2011)

4 months out, how much exercise are you getting. Try drinking more fluids
when you think you're hungry, most times mine is thirst or head hunger.

look very closely at your carb intake and substitute protein for it.when
carbs burn that is what make syou "hungry".I lost 265 lbs over 7
yrs ago and am keeping it off and still am never hungey.I always eat my
protein first and then if i have room a veggie.Never lost any of my hair
that was noticible. This too i credit to mostly a protein diet and more than
the required water intake.I also still do at least 1 protein supplement a
dayFor me i stopped the wine until all th eweight was lost then addd it
back and i drink a very dry wine not a sweet one.good luck

I am almost 6 months out and I feel the same thing. It's kind of scary and
would be really easy to start eating all the time. I do think it is head
hunger. I've been drinking more water and it seems to help. I have upped
my protein. If I think I'm really hungry, I'll take a couple of bites of a
Pure Protein bar. Also, for my hair I take Biotin. Good luck and hang in
there, you'll start losing again. Chris D.

I am nine months out and did not have any hair loss to speak of but I take
mostly my protein like directed, I am down over 100 pounds and still
losing. Doctor said no carbs until I have lost what I want to lose then
just a few complex carbs to maintain my desired weight. A good protein
supplement I just found is Dymatize and I got it on www.vitacost.com or
something like that..then I use the Proti 15 fruit ones too, I have a half
cup of coffee in the AM's with a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate
and whip it in a blender, then in one cup I have a thick hot smoothie that
is 45 grams of protein, so nearly half the day's requirement in one cup
serving.

Thank you, everyone for your responses.....I will admit to eating more
carbs than I should be....I love protein and will up the shakes....I was
told I could eat anything, but just smaller portions, so I will try to
change my ways....I didn't go through all of this to go back to where I
was....thanks again for everything.....Blessings to you all...Mary EL

If you are losing your hair, you are probably not eating enough protein.
The hair loss usually comes 2-3 months after that has happened. Try upping
your protein. One of my biggest misconceptions after surgery, was the water
intake. The water increases your metabolism, which I forgot in the
information overload. So drink up!
