Question:
does anyone know if OHIP in canada covers banding over bypass ??????????????

I was told they would only pay for the gastric bypass and will not pay for the band

I was also told they only cover gastric bypass surgery.

OHIP in my approval papers say it will cover everything but lap banding.

THey will NOT pay for the lap band as it is not as successful as the bypass. It tends to slip on many patients requiring the gastric surgery in the end. so just go for the bypass. My doctors reco mmended the RNY for me.
