Yes don't drink with your meal. the fluid will flush out your solid food.
Good Luck

Try to avoid drinking any fluids for 30 min. prior to eating, and waiting
30-60 min. after you've eaten. When you eat, make sure you include meat.
Half of your plate should be protein, and the other half vegetables (and
fruit if you like). I'd stick with less starchy vegetables for awhile.
Limit potatoes, corn, and peas to once or twice a week. They turn to
glucose (sugar) right away, and will cause sugar level spikes and drop offs
that can lead to hunger and cravings soon after eating. Make sure you are
taking at least one bite of protein (solid meat) for every bite of anything
else. The protein will level out your blood glucose, and you should stay
full longer. Keep a food and activity log, and show it to your surgeon or
his dietitian if you continue to have problems. I wish you all of the
best. I know you can get back on track, don't get discouraged, and be kind
to yourself. You ARE worth it. God Bless.

That used to happen to me so I began wating 1/2 hour after my meal and
would then drink 1/2 cup of my protein shake and then 1/2 hour after that
my protein water. That put a stop to that.

Make sure you're restricting fluid consumption during your meal and for
60-90 minutes afterwards. I find this happens sometimes with me depending
upon what I've eaten. If you continue with this make sure and talk to your
surgeon about it.

Alot of it depends on what you are eating and when you drink like everyone
else posted. However, I have been told to continue to eat 5 - 6 times a
day so as long as you are feeling full while you are eating you may
actually be ok as long as you are eating protein.

So soon out of surgery are you sure it isn't head hunger? Try drinking a
glass of something and wait 1/2 hour. If you don't feel hungry...it was
head hunger..if you do...try to drink something heavier..or more food like.
Such as soup broth , or v-8 juice seasoned up like soup.It feels like food
but is a liquid. Best of luck! hugs,Kim
