I could never find out a way to check the doctors in Mexico. I talked to
several people on here for months and 1 guy in my support group. My hubby
just had the sleeve done on the 29th by Dr. Alvarez. You can search in the
top right corner and find posts about doctors and look on VSG boards for
lots more info. Good Luck

I also had Dr. Alvarez and I recommend him 100%! My surgery was done in
March of this year. He and his staff were very supportive and caring. I
received much better treatment there than I have ever gotten here in the
states!! The best thing is that I have had absolutely no problems with my
sleeve. He will give you a detailed paper on what exactly was done for you
to give to your own doctor when you get home. I honestly just can't say
enough about how happy I am that I chose Dr. Alvarez!
Good Luck,

There is a forum for Mexico Drs. on this web site. Also, several of the
Drs have pages on this site.
I searched the web as well, reading their web sites, finding out where the
surgery would be and researching them as well.
I chose Dr. Rumbaut in Monterrey. Others from around the world go to him
to learn the lap band procedure. The hospital he & his associates use
are the only one the US will allow a president to go to if they were in
Mexico & something happened.
Dr Rumbaut & his staff are very professional, and very good at what they
do.

You can find out a lot information about doctors right from this website.
You can click on baratric surgeons in the tool bar up top in orange or
other different ways from this site. That is how I found my doctor. I
checked to see if they took my insurance first after filling out a form.
Everything you need to know is right on here.

I have lived in Monterrey, Mexico for 40 years. (My husband and I are
Baptist missionaries.) We have a long time family friend, Dr. Roberto
Rodriquez, who was professor of surgery at the medical school here. He
recommended three bariatric surgeons to me. We interviewed two of them and
decided to go with Dr. Roberto Rumbaut. In my opinion, he is the best. He
has been written up in various magazines and is very expertise in what he
does. He has a web site, just google Dr. Roberto Rumbaut, Monterrey,
Mexico. We also went for an interview with a Bariatric surgeon in Texas.
Believe me, we chose wisely, when we chose Dr. Rumbaut. I had the RNY and
have lost 135 pounds so far. I still have 100 more to lose, but I can see
my goal in sight. God bless you in your weight loss journey.
