Question:
What's your favorite protein powder, liquid etc
I know it's a personal thing but there are just so many out there and and one could spend fortune testing. So..come one come all.. what do you like best — Kathleen F. (posted on May 20, 2009)

I like the EAS Advant-edge Protein powder, chocolate and vanilla. You can
mix them with water or milk, blend them with yogurt, soymilk, etc. There
is no grit to them or funny after taste.
One thing I did learn though is to mix it up the day before in a one quart
rubbermaid drink bottle with a good sealing lid so you can shake it. Then
put it into the refrigerator. Shake it up again before pouring out a
serving size. This way you don't have all the clumps!
The other way that I have done it is to put it into a blender bottle, i.e.
Tupperware or Blender Ball containers with a couple of ice cubes or a bit
of crushed ice. The ice helps to work like blender blades. Shake it for a
couple of minutes, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then shake again and it
will be smooth. Tastes like chocolate milk!

If you go to GNC I've heard they have a 30 day return policy, so you can
test a protein powder and bring it back if you don't like it :) I've heard
everyone say they like different ones really, it seems to be a real matter

Hi, I couldn't live without Isopure Zero Carb drinks (20 oz, 40g protein).
They taste just like koolaid! They're pricey but worth it in my opinion.
Also, this lady here-> http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
has some great recipes to doctor up protein shakes using even the cheapest
of powders (watch your calories though). Good luck!

I love Pro Cal 100, and Z-Pro 25....after trying MANY different drinks I
have found these to actually be GOOD, not only NOT HORRIBLE. They, come in
single serving envelopes and also also have some in "to go"
bottles that you just add water to when you are ready to drink it. There
are flavors galore.. the cappuccino flavored one is addictive...hot or
cold. There are also many other
flavors. The "tomato juice" one is to die for. I add a little
black pepper, and I'm one happy camper. I order on-line from R-Kane
Products. You can get samples of some of the products, if I'm not mistaken.
They also have something called a "Tiny Meal" Protein Bar. (maybe
for when you're a little further out)ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE SOME OF THE
GARBAGE I'VE BOUGHT IN SUPERMARKETS AND VITAMIN STORES. 15 grams of
protein, tastes like you're eating a chocolate bar, has tons of vitamins.
Comes in Peanut Butter, Almond, or Mint flavors. If I eat one in the
morning after I work out, I don't think of food for hours. It keeps me full
for hours. Good luck to you. I had to "kiss" way to many frogs
until I found these products.

My favorite is the GNC Pro Performance Unflavored powder. My favorite
drink recipe is 6oz 2% milk, (6g protein)1-2 tsp splenda, 1 scoop GNC
powder, (21g protein)1/3 of a banana frozen, 5-8 pieces of frozen
strawberries. Blend until smooth. Yummy! Hope you enjoy!

I love the Designer Whey French Vanilla protein powder. I mix it up and
add a pack of 4C fruit punch flavor. It is so good!

protein powder that u mix is only good for a very short time. After about 30
min the protein begins to break down so drink it or it will do u no
good. Not a good idea to mix it up and let it sit even if u refrigerate it.

I only tried one so it's hard to compare, but I thought it tasted good. It
was the only no-sugar protein powder at my grocery store--called Gensoy. I
added 2 scoops to no-sugar added Instant Breakfast (chocolate) and skim
milk. The combination was around 30 grams of protein. Oh, I also added 3
packets of Equal.

Hi there!
I have tried Designer Whey in Chocolate which is pretty good and also
recently, thanks to an OH friend tried the "Oh Yeah" Chocolate
Shake. It's really good and 1 bottle gives you 32g of Protein. I did
check with my NUTS on it because it did have double other things but she
said it's fine! It's a little pricey at $3.49 a bottle but worth it. You
can find them at any Vitamin Shoppe!

I became lactose intolerant after I had stocked up on three flavors of
Nectar...I had been trying many samples pre op and this was the only one
that tasted okay to me. After surgery...OMIGOD, I do not know what
happened...My taste tchanged, my sense of smell became very acute and as
soon as I opened any canister of Whey, it just smelled like monkey butt! I
gagged before it ever even hit my lips! I also became lactose intolerant
and so Whey had to be Whey isolate and say somewhere on the container
"whey isolate"....Still whey gave me a belly ache and the thick,
intense sweetness was just more than my pouch or mouth could handle. This
experience happens often too...I was lucky in that I could return the
opened Nectar containers back to Vitamin Shoppe. The ONLY whey that I could
tolerate after RNY was the "Isopure No Carb" Glass bottles of
clear whey isolate...They come in many flavors... One bottle a day was all
I needed to supplement my protein intake and insure I got about 60 gs of
protein because one bottle is 40 g....It's about $4 a bottle, but
considering it gave me my nutrition for the day that was a cheap meal! So I
had no trouble spending that money...YEARS later, I found a powder EAS
whey-soy blend at Costco and I actaully like it...It does not smell like
butt and is not thick like snot or sickening sweet! LOL Sorry...Can you
tell how much I love whey? Plus to date it is the ONLY whey I have ever
tasted that does NOT give me any belly ache at all...All others seem to at
least leave my pouch grumpy...This one leaves me full for hours and I use
it for breakfast daily in a cup of instant coffee and it starts my day with
30ish gs of protein...Good luck because you are right, it is a personal
thing...and that's why I went so deep into details...

I went to Walmart and found this drink and I like it and it gives you your
chocolate fix, that is if you like chocolate! I also like the Vanilla Chai
Tea one even better! Good Luck!

So far I finally found a good one. I use 6oz lowfat milk with 2 scoops of
cookies n cream protein powder and 1 scoop SF swiss mocha blended with ice.
It's like having a chocolate malt, yummy!! Also the banana cream is
great. All purchased at GNC.

I've been using Isopure Zero Carb protein powder in Creamy Vanilla. I mix
2 scoops in my blender with 1/2 cup of skim milk and about a cup a crushed
ice. It's 50 grams of protein, plus you can doctor it up a bit by added
vanilla and/or unsweetened chocolate. I also like the Isopure flavored
water (40 grams of protein); they remind me of Crystal Light. I buy both
at The Vitamin Shoppe or online if they happen to be out. Did see it once
at GNC but it was way more expensive there.

The 20 oz glass bottles of Iso Pure with 40 gms of protein can be bought at
Vitamin Shoppe and GNC. So can the Synthrax Nectars (they're powders that
come in a huge container) - I like the fruity Fuzzy Navel (it's like grown
up koolaid), and the very yummy Chocolate Truffle. I also like the EAS,
but found out something interesting. The EAS that you get in the bag has
more protein than the one in the box. You can get it at Costco. But my
FAVORITES are the RTD (ready to drink) Oh Yeah Vanilla, and the powdered
Lean Desserts in the Chocolate Coconut Candy Bar, Fresh Cinnamon Bun, and
Banana Nut Bread flavors. Those can all be gotten at the Vitamin Shoppe.
There IS a tasteless, odorless protein powder that you can add to hot
cereals, broth, soups, almost anything you want... and it's called Any
Whey. I've only been able to find that online. I think I got my canister
from a place called BestPriceNutrition.com, but I know it's also available
from bariatriceating.com.

Nector Medical Unflavored has no flavor and can be mixed with what ever you
want. Max Protein vanilla as recommended by

is really tasty also.

My boyfriend and I have been using Muscle Milk protein powder. There are a
number of flavors, you can buy it on amazon.com and it's delicious. We just
recently bought a Mint Chocolate kind, and oh my goodness, I didn't think
that something healthy for you would taste so good. We blend one cup of
low-fat milk, 2 scoops of the powder and about 5-7 ice cubes and you get a
wonderful shake that is between 40-50g of protein. There is also a cookies
n cream kind that is awesome! So far, those are my 2 favorites!
