Question:
My skin tears very easy and it also looks like blood pockets but only on my lower arm
Has anyone come across this? If I even bump something or scratch my arms I am getting skin tares and these blood blotches all over the lower arm from the elbow down — AnnaMarieVill (posted on January 15, 2009)

Being a nurse, I have seen what you have described in 2 cases: when
patients are on steroids or people on blood thinners- especially in the
elderly. Please call your physician and get it checked out and most likely
get some labwork done as well.
Best of luck,

I HAVE THE VERY SAME THING , HAVE HAD IT EVER SINCE I HAD SURGERY , WHICH
WAS OVER 8 YRS AGO NOW , IT'S VERY STRANGE , BUT MY MOM HAD IT ALSO WHEN
SHE GOT OLDER , I'M 66 AND I CAN BARELY BUMP INTO SOMETHING OT BRUSH
AGAINST A DOOR OPENING AND I END UP NEEDING A BANDAGE . I WENT TO SEE A
PLASTIC SURGEON , AND SHE JUST SAID I HAD VERY FRAIGILE SKIN , BANDAIDS
WILL EVEN PULL THE SKIN OFF MY ARMS IF I'M NOT CAREFUL , AND ALSO LIKE YOU
ITS JUST ON MY LOWER ARMS ON THE TOP SIDE , NOT UNDERNEATH .SOMETIMES I
LOOK LIKE IV'E BEEN BEAT TO DEATH,,SANDY I HATE IT

I agree with Dawn. You need to go to the doc and get it checked out; get
labs done. Also find out if you are diabetic
People don't like to hear that news, also being a nurse like Dawn, but you
need to know. Let us know what you find out please; it may help others.
Good Luck and God Bless,

I get it, too. My skin is very thin ... as was my mother's and
grandmother's as they got older. I am 58 and my blood work is fine. I think
it appears on the arms because that is what we are using to reach, swing
etc. For example, I see more on my right arm since I am right handed.
