I drink Nectar Fuzzy Navel and Roadside Lomonade and Ultimate Protein Chocolate. They are all best drunk from a sports bottle to divert the protein smell. I think one of the biggest reason new post ops don't get enough protein in is the smell. I buy the Nectars from www.vitacost.com and the Ultimate Protein you can get from most GNC's. Good luck to you.

I do things that are easily accessible to me. Carnation Instant Breakfast works well. Also Ensure and Ensure Plus. Since I am very into fitness I also add the protein found at GNC; some of it is whey protein. You may want to check what is in some of these products to reduce your risk of allery or digestive upset.

Isopure Zero Carb Fruit Protein drinks. They come in a glass bottle and can be purchased at Vitamin Shopper or GNC. At first drinking them straight has a weird after taste so I would mix it 50/50 with a bottle of water and now I drink them straight. It has 40 grams of protein -- a bit expensive but I don't drink them everyday. I'm almost 2 years post op so I get protein in other ways. When I purchase these my favorite flavors are Grape Frost, Alpine Punch and Apple Melon -- stay away from the orange -- it's horrible. Try those and see how you like them -- they sell them by the case or individual bottles.

I agree with NaDine Rawls - Iso-Pure protien drinks taste wonderful, they are clear like water or soda, and the Grape Frost is the best. I think they have something like 40 grams of protien per bottle. But yes, they ARE expensive. Like 3.89 per bottle. I got mine at the Vitamin Shoppe.

My personal favorite is Designer whey protein pro performance from GNC. It comes in many flavors and it is very affordable. I mix the protein powder with milk and put fruit in it to make smoothies. Good luck.

I love the Dessert Whey Protein and Oh Yeah shakes. I drink these almost every day. I've ordered them online mostly. I also like all of the protein drinks that everyone else has listed so far. These other two were the only other ones that I drink that no one had mentioned yet. Hope all of this helps! Good luck!!

I have come to the conclusion that protein drinks and powders are an incredibly personal taste! One persons taste varies so much from the next! LOL I can't even get passed the smell of most protein let alone drink it without a wicked belly ache...But I do suggest Whey protein ISOLATE as your first choice...and one that does not have a ton of added vits (that can irriate pouch)...Just plain whey isolate with at least 13 or more amino acids...If you cannot stomach that try a whey soy isolate blend as it is easier on my lactose intollerant pouch. I like EAS from Costco...The smell of it does not gag me either...The best tasting whey though in my opinion is Muscle Milk Chocolate powder...It tastes absolutely yummy (like cake batter), but I can only handle a half or it will double me over in pain. You really just need to sample these if you can find the samples first...Don't stock up...Your tastes change over time and after surgery if you haven't had surgery yet..

My favorite is Unjury Chocolate. One scoop mixed with 8 oz of skim milk gives you 190 calories and 28 grams of protein. You can order it at Unjury.com and they can send you individual samples to try before you buy a whole container.
