Question:
3mos. post-op today..
I have lost 52 lbs. and I have been stuck for the past 3 weeks with absolutely no weight loss.. has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything that I can do to start losing again? — slreis09 (posted on December 2, 2008)

Hi Sunni- The best thing for me is to ramp up the exercise to a little bit
more intensity. You don't have to do it all at once, but try to add in
more time exercising in small increments. Make sure you are drinking your
water and following your plan. It will happen. Plateaus are bummers
though. Hang with it, it will happen.

Sounds normal ... the plateaus are frustrating ... hang in there though.
Your body is adjusting to all the changes. Exercise and watch your clothes
... how they are fitting ...

Today is my 3mos surgiversary too! Congratulations! I've lost 41 since
surgery. I feel like the weight loss gets stuck every now and then too.
My longest plateau was 3 weeks at the end of Sept but my weight did start
dropping again after that. Sometimes I'll be stuck a week then a few
pounds come off. Stick with your program and be sure to move/exercise 30-60
min a day and drink your water! Overall, 41 pounds in 3 months is better
than I would have done pre-surgery, that is how I look at it!

I find a pattern to my weight loss since gastric bypass. It really isn't a
plateau, according to the experts, unless you've lost no weight for more
than a month and also lost no inches. Try measuring when you're stuck and
see if the inches are coming off.
Also adding more protein, in addition to drinking your water and upping the
exercise can help. Good luck!

My surgery was on 8/18. I was weighing myself daily and became too
frustrated with the scale going up and down. I stopped getting on, only
weigh myself every few weeks. I know I'm losing since my clothes are huge
and the compliments I get from people that haven't seen me in awhile. Try
not using the scale! Congrats on your weight loss!
